How to Make a Dessert Charcuterie Board
The holidays are FINALLY here! I always look forward to the holiday season because it’s filled with so many great memories, traditions, and time together with loved ones. I find that some of my best memories come from being in the kitchen. With the holiday season quickly approaching, I wanted to think of a way to combine my love of baked goods, cookie dough, and traditional foods to come up with something new. So I got to thinking, what about a charcuterie board, but make it dessert themed! This is such a fun and easy way to serve all the holiday cookies and baked goods together. Here’s how I made a DŌ themed board:
- Cookies - The holiday season is filled with some of the best cookies IMO. The possibilities are endless: from sugar cookies to crinkle cookies and so many in between. So it’s a given that the board has to have some. I included gingerbread cookies from our gingerbread decorating kit and sugar cookies from our sugar cookie decorating kit.
- Peppermint - One of the best flavors of the holiday season is peppermint so it had to be on the board. I included peppermint bark, peppermint wafer sticks, and our crushed peppermint sprinkles in the center.
- Cookie Dough - What is a DŌ charcuterie board without the star of the show? Cookie dough! While any of our flavors are a great addition to your dessert board, I had to go with flavors from our holiday pack: Cookies & Milk and Gingerbread. Make sure you get your hands on these before they’re gone by the end of the month!
- The “extras” - while I like to call them the extras, they are a crucial part of any board. These can be any kind of dessert or even dessert ingredient. For this, I included marshmallows, chocolate covered pretzels, and chocolate chips. These are great to be paired with the other ingredients on the board or just enjoyed as is. Another option to include a bit of health on the board is to opt for fresh berries such as raspberries or strawberries.
Last but not least, the most crucial ingredient of any dessert board is to have fun with it! This can also be a great activity to do with loved ones. If you make a dessert board inspired but this I’d love to see it! Make sure you tag any creation @cookiedonyc and @kristentomlan on social media. I hope you have the best holiday season surrounded by love and great memories.
